Today I embraced the morning sunshine

Today I woke up like any other day. Broken sleep, cat who bangs the blinds and dogs who wait on my every move. This morning Lucy my precocious JRT/Beagle was in a state about something and when she gets like this, she paces and when she paces her nails click on my floor. She reminds me of myself when I get anxious and I can’t sit still and I wring my hands and rock back and forth.  I realized she had used the potty pad, and it upset her that it was on the floor. So after I cleaned it up, I looked at the clock and saw that it was when we would normally get up. 

I looked outside and I saw a beautiful, crisp, sunshine filled morning! My steps and motions were instant, I wanted outside. I wanted to feel the crisp cool air on my skin, the kind that makes your cheeks rosy :).

It was a gorgeous morning, The snow and frost on the trees, you can see your breath as you walk. My dogs were in a fit of glory, one kept going in and out of the various ditches, reminiscent of his days on the farm. 

 

I promised myself that today I would embrace this moment. I can’t promise everyday will be like today, but if my dogs are what get me to embrace the fresh air, seeing them happy and playful. I will take it.
